If you are looking for a mix between romance and mystery, this is the book for you. A Place To Stay has everything from romantic temptations, troubled pasts and an unknown danger.

Jennie Jones tells a story set in an outback town of Western Australia. She provides two point of views from characters, Rachel and Senior Sergeant Luke Weston. Rachel moves to this new town hoping to forget her past and her different personas. Everything goes well until she meets Luke Weston and becomes confused as to who she should be.

Whilst Rachel figures this out, Luke is overcome with tremendous feelings for Rachel as he tries to uncover her secrets. Will he follow the duties of a police officer to bring them out or admit the truth to her about his feelings and why he is investigating her past?

Sometimes two sets of views in a story can be confusing, but Jennie does well in balancing these perspectives via her characters. It’s definitely easier to understand the characters’ feelings when you can read their thoughts.

And in terms of the genre, you can’t have romance without a little mystery and that’s what this story showcases. Even whilst reading Rachel’s point of view, the reader is still clueless as to exactly what happened in her past. And that’s what makes you keep reading to the end so you can find out. The only thing that did disappoint me was the ending as after discovering what happened, there wasn’t really a big climax afterwards when the mystery was resolved.

Besides that, A Place To Stay, is a great read for lovers of mystery and romance stories.
